HATCHET MOUNTAIN FOREST PRODUCTS

Directions from Redding, CA

I-5 One mile north of Redding, exit on 299 East.

Proceed to Montgomery Creek, approx. 32 miles.

Go through Montgomery Creek to the top of the next grade, about 5 miles.

At top of the grade, Hillcrest, turn left on Big Bend Road.

Proceed 8 miles and turn left on Cove Road. It may not be marked. Check odometer at Hillcrest.

About 100 yards from intersection (Big Bend and Cove Road) take left fork. You are still on Cove Road. There is a Hatchet Mtn. sign on a post.

Proceed 1.4 miles and turn right on gravel road. Johnson Road and a Hatchet Mtn. sign will be on a tree. If you run out of pavement on Cove Road, you’ve gone too far.

On Johnson Road you will come to a bridge, large trucks must use the ford. Proceed 1.2 miles and turn right at Johnson/DiMaio gates. There is a Hatchet Mtn. sign and a McCleskey sign.

Proceed along fence and turn left (sign) into Hatchet Mtn. driveway after slight downhill. Stop at the first buildings you come to. This is the shop area. The house is at end of driveway.
